I'm getting pretty good at this

Juli asked me if I could remove Kathie and Trey from this photo, so she could use it on a profile page. I had to create her right shoulder, and give her hair and an earring on that side. It turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.

Any day now, I should be able to transform myself into Monica Bellucci.

My groovy past

Little hippie girlIt seems I am to be in a book. A photo of me in high school has been selected for inclusion in an upcoming photo book called Who We Are: A History of America Through Snapshots. Surprisingly, the photo will be part of the chapter on the ’60s, although it was obviously taken just weeks ago. Ahem.

Not surprisingly, co-author Richard Cahan found the photo via Flickr, where my hippie-days pics get frequent comments. In fact, my second-most popular photo is one of me in my bedroom in 1970. What is the younger generation’s fascination with that era? My daughter Juli frequently laments that she was born 30 years too late. She even went through her own neo-hippie phase, back in her Phish-following days. And she knows acid-rock music as well as I do.

Coincidentally, yet another high-school photo of me was featured on the blog One Million Peace Signs today. It’s nearly forty years late, but I am at last getting my 15 minutes of fame.
