I am open to the power of the universe in helping this to occur.
UPDATE: It has been suggested that I put up a donation button to help fund my trip in return for some outrageous act of gratitude. I’m desperate enough to consider this. Opinions? Comments? Questions?
UPDATE #2: The universe has spoken. And the answer was an emphatic NO. When the universe speaks emphatically, I listen. And that’s enough about that.

Set up a PayPal link or a tip jar via http://www.tipjoy.com/ — I’ll toss in a few bucks. Gotta get the partying going on. :o)
Seriously, you could make something fun out of this, like:
* For a $1 donation, you get your name on my blog’s “HORRORWEEN WITH ADAM” thank-you page.
* For a $5 donation, I will dance with some fetching lad at the party and post the vid on my blog. And you get a small ad on the thank-you page.
* For $10, I will dance all by myself at the party and post the vid on my blog. And you’ll get a bigger ad.
* For $20, I’ll lead an Irish song and hoist a mug of beer in your honor, and we’ll call you for a boozy mid-party chat. :o) Video/audio also posted on teh blog. And you can pretty put whatever the heck you want on the thank-you page.
Etc. Just a thought!
Hmm, you could also ask if anyone has any frequent flier miles they could donate. Are those transferrable?

You could get a swimsuit and agree to wear it briefly at the party, with slogans painted on you, depending on the size of the donation. “This ass brought to you by ____.” “The thigh’s the limit,” sponsored by ____.”
Or if you’re squeamish, use a magic marker on the outside of an old sweatshirt and jeans. Premium spots = premium donations. :o)

Donation buttons, with the exception to fund one time trips, are a bad idea.
