Just some stuff

  • I got to work this morning and discovered I had my blouse on inside-out. Seriously? My husband couldn’t have noticed this little flaw in my attire? Okay, it’s just a peasant top, but still. Seams on the OUTSIDE?!?!
  • I mentioned awhile back that Pseudotherapy’s design has become butt-ugly to me. I’ve got a concept in mind that I LOVE. However, I am a graphic DESIGNER, not a graphic ARTIST. I have neither the skills nor the talent to create the image I need to build my design around. I finally located a graphic artist whose style is exactly what I’m looking for (and who even has similar images in her portfolio), and contacted her. It’s been three weeks now, and she hasn’t even bothered to reply to my query. I guess that means she’s not interested. Damn. So the search is on again. Any recommendations? (NOT Dave2. I adore his style, but don’t want my blog to look like his blog. We already get mistaken for each other enough as it is. [insert winky here, because they're apparently NOT WORKING] Not to mention that he has enough on his agenda, ahem.
  • Yesterday our VP arrived at work just as I was walking back to my office from the kitchen. He roared into the parking lot in his Porsche, top down, golden surfer-boy hair tossing madly in the wind. Exuberant as always after an early morning on the waves. **SWOON** Yet another benefit of living in California.
  • Our youngest cat, Data, is the epitome of a toddler. She had a harsh life before we adopted her, and sometimes has nightmares I suspect stem from her babyhood. Last night she had a particularly bad one, crying out in her sleep loud enough to wake both herself and me. She then jumped into bed between us, and curled herself up in the curve of Bret’s arm, her head resting on his hand. Even though he didn’t wake, she felt safe against Dad. I know the feeling.
  • Finally, what can I auction off to raise the money for a trip to Floida in, say, late October?

UPDATE: I HAVE AN ARTIST!!! Someone I like much better than my previous choice, and she responded to my query right away. Now if I can just afford her …

Too bad I’m no good with site designs or I’d help you out. I’m simple a regular logo etc. graphic designer. Can’t say that I can help much sorry, I just like your blog. I was wondering about Data the cat though. Is that Data as in Star Trek, or is it just a fun name. My mom used to watch it all the time and also had a white cat named Data lol.

Good luck with all your design stuff. Let me know if you need anything and I’ll try to help.

J-Mill: Thanks for the offer - I’ll keep you in mind. Data is indeed named after the android in Star Trek: The Next Generation, because her eyes are exactly the same color as his. It also happens that her name goes well with the names of our other cats, Lynksis and Mouse.

Glad to see you here!

I wish I had design talent. It would be rather helpful!

I have three t-shirts that were designed to be worn inside out. I thought they were cool when I bought them (at some festival or another) but after the 900th time of someone telling you the obvious I stopped wearing them. Had anyone said anything - just say ‘It’s the new style’ and swish off!

Lorelei from TopTut.com ignored the contact form I sent her about a custom design. I guess she wasn’t that interested in my money. At any rate, I found someone else to make me a custom template. And she did it in like 3 days! And charged me $54! I’m soooo happy with it. It’s my author site under my pen name Lex Valentine. It should be going up later on. Jester went out tonight so I just have to send him the files. You can see the mockup she did for me at http://www.lsdesigns.net/testone/. The site will be live on lexvalentine.com soon. Marty liked her work well enough to ask for her email addy. I’m happy to give it to you also if you’re interested.

Dave2: But then you would just be one of the crowd, no?

Cap: Data is 3 years old. Our other two were much more mature at that age. And welcome to Pseudotherapy!

Bec: I’m very grateful for my graphic design training. I just wish I could create images more artistic than simple logos and such. Like … people figures.

Winter: Your site looks great! But I’m confused - why do you have to send your files to Jester???

I want to do my own design work. I just need an artist to create my primary image. I’m almost to the point of attempting it myself, damn it!

I continually wear my underwear inside out to work. Even though I consciously try not to. WTF?

Poor Data. She’s lucky to have such a great mommy and daddy to take care of her.
