Something about her says “I want to trust you, but I am not sure if I can.” It is like she has a very “adult” expression on her face!

I love this photo. Like Kilax, it’s as if the expression is beyond her years. She reminds me of the urchin up the street who has drug addict for parents and there is a sadness in her eyes.

Her expression on such a small girl makes my heart hurt. Yet I can’t seem to look away.
I’ve seen similar expressions on children in Depression-era photos.
