I hear summer in the breeze
One of my co-workers is planning a summer kick-off barbecue and pool party on June 21st, and?I’ve been “volunteered” to supply the music. The request is for a minimum of four hours of tunes, appropriately summerish. Having been a SoCal teenager in the ’60s, I’ve got the whole Beach Boys/surf music aspect covered. But I want to keep the music varied, and at least half the guests will be under the age of 40, so I want more recent tunes as well.
Help me out by posting all your favorite summer songs in the comments. Or even any you can think of, favorite or not. Include the artist if you can, so I can find it easier. I’ve put up a page with the list on it, so you can see what songs have already been suggested.
This may be tougher for those of you still getting snow …

I can’t think of the tune names, but the soundtrack from “Now and Then” comes to mind!

Just a few:
“Margaritaville” - Jimmy Buffett (or almost any Buffett song)
“Summer Lovin’” - Grease
“Black Velvet” - ? (Alannah Myles?)
Hmm. I’m going to be thinking about summer songs all day now! :o)
