You mean to tell me that the dictionary has been lying to me? Does everyone know about this conspiracy too make me look stupid?! Oh God, is that how you spell stupid?
Oh about half the comments on my little Prince video I have to run through some kind of webspeak translator. then there’s a troll who comes around every so often to talk about how wonderful Prince is. Ah, Youtube.
Slightly off topic, but I wonder about these kids today with all these texting acronyms, if they even realize the importance of being able to spell. : |
I’ve currently got a part-time gig as a proofreader and editor for a technical writing group. This is for a big company with a long history.
Based on what I’ve been editing…no, the kids today don’t know about spelling. And they know less about decent grammar or sentence structure. They use LOTS of passive voice - probably so that they can “sound literate”.
