Querypalooza!
Avitable (WARNING! Link definitely?NSFW) created this interview meme, and since I’m tied up with other creative stuff right now, I’ll give it a go!
Here’s how it works: Answer these five questions on your blog, and then come up with five new ones for your readers to answer on their respective blogs, etc. And link back to here.
1. Out of all of the posts you’ve written, which is your favorite and why?
Hmm, I have many favorites, but possibly this one, because I like how honest and funny it is. So often I’m whining about myself; it’s a nice change to chuckle affectionately at my imperfections.
2. Out of all of the posts I’ve [Avitable] written that you’ve read, which is your favorite and why?
The “Letter to my body” one, because you look so good naked.
3. Which do you find the most frightening and why: A radically fundamentalist Christian, a moderate Muslim, a pretentious atheist, or a Scientologist?
A radically fundamentalist Christian, because so many consider it their God-given duty to convert the rest of the world to their beliefs ? no matter what it takes. There is nothing frightening about a moderate Muslim. Every atheist I’ve ever known has been pretentious. Scientologists are wacky, but harmless ? unless you’re a couch.
4. Rather than discuss the typical characteristics of someone you’d desire (sense of humor, good body, etc.), I’m going to focus on the little details. Rank them in order of preference, with #7 being the one you consider more important than the others and #1 being the one you consider the least important:
1. Good fashion sense
2. Ability to dance well
3. Encyclopedic knowledge
4. Odorless feet
5. Quick-wittedness
6. Even-tempered nature
7. Likes the same music, movies, and/or television
6, 3, 7, 5, 2, 1, 4. #6 first because my first husband was a mean, violent drunk and I won’t go there again. #4 last because I?find the odor of my husband’s feet quite arousing.
5. If you were going to be trapped on a remote island for the rest of your life with one other person, which would you choose and why?
A. Your spouse or s.o.
B. Your celebrity crush
C. Your best friend
D. MacGyver
E. One of your parents or children
Definitely A, my spouse. First, because he IS MacGyver, and was also a wilderness backpacker. He knows his ass from a hole in the ground, let me tell you. Also, he’s the best companion I could ever hope for, in any circumstances. Plus, the sex would make me not care if we were ever rescued. It would kill me to never see my daughter again, but I wouldn’t want her trapped with me for her sake.
* * * * *
And for Part 2, here are my five questions for you guys to answer on your blogs:
1. If you had to completely give up one of the following for the rest of your life, which would you sacrifice and why: Watching television, blogging or sex?
2. Which do you drink most often and why: Tap water, bottled plain water or “enhanced” water?
3. What one movie has had the greatest impact on you as a person and why?
4. If money/employment was of no consideration, where would you live and why?
5. Do you remember what life was like B.C. (before cellphones)? Compare and contrast your life then and now. Cite three examples of what you have gained or lost by using one. Include a pie chart showing the percentages of time spent on the phone, and a bar graph illustrating how your social life has been affected.

Those are some damn fine questions you ask! I’m not sure I will get to them on my blog so here are my quick responses:
1) tv
2) tap
3) (woah hard one) what comes to mind right away is Schindler’s List which I went to see alone and which made me cry buckets.
4) I would live by the ocean with a view and access to walk right down on the sand in California! The sea makes me feel peaceful.
5) Life BC was so much simpler. And more difficult!

“unless you’re a couch” - bwahahaha!
I can’t answer these…question number one is like Sophie’s Choice!

Great answers! Although I think Scientology is a lot more frightening than you think. I’ll answer yours here:
1. I’d give up sex. I can always masturbate!
2. I don’t drink water at all.
3. The Professional. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a hitman when I got older.
4. Los Angeles. We loved it when we lived there and I would love to go back and buy a nice house. Maybe someday.
5. I barely use my cellphone until I got my iPhone. Now I use it to check email constantly.
Avitable’s last blog post..Orlando survived . . . barely.

Sizzle: I LOVE your answer to #4! That’s what I want someday.
Hilly: LOL! I was thinking of you when I made that one up!
Avitable: Masturbation IS sex! It’s solo sex. I love The Professional; such a moving film. And you should try drinking water - it might plump up your nutsack.

The movie that influenced me the most was Tuesday’s With Morrie. I love that man! The words of wisdom he has to offer on life is just so inspirational. I still can’t watch it without bawling my eyes out.

Am definitely going to do your questions… tomorrow… possibly… It’ll at least be interesting to see what my brain decides on… while this wiped out.
Love your answers to Avitable’s questions -how awful is it that it took me a full five minutes to realise what you meant by the couch remark? Or is it just because I’m trying to wipe stunts like that out?!

For some reason, I think it would be easier to answer on your blog than mine. :)
1. Blogging
2. Bottled water
3. Fletch - The movie is irrelevant because we didn’t watch much of it. (First date with my wife.)
4. LaJolla
5. I remember but cell phones have never been that big of a deal to me.

BlondeBlogger: I’m totally unfamiliar with that film. I’ll have to check it out.
Bec: Can’t wait to see your answers! And you know, Tom Cruise just never seems to tire of making an ass of himself.
ajooja: La Jolla is such a beautiful town. I love it too. Was the movie a drive-in? ;)

I LOVE your questions!
1. TV
2. Boiled Tap.
3. That one’s too hard - I loved the book “Unbearable Lightness of Being”, but I can’t for the life of me name a movie that struck me as life-changing… maybe E. T. because it was so surreal. And I’ve wanted to fly across the moon.
4. Anywhere nearby the water where I can harvest oysters and build my own eco-home - and still be a drive away from the city. Probably California.
5. I’ve had a cellphone since I was 15 (it was my first BILL) - and remember it was just a lot of payphone, and a lot of waiting around for tardy friends.

Masturbation’s not sex! Neither are blowjobs. According to Catholic school.
