Pseudotherapy

Thanks to WfuckingP killing Sunday, last weekend was a pretty unproductive one. I was out of commission most of Saturday due to severe hand/wrist pain. I briefly attempted to use the mouse with my left hand, but soon found that hand cramping and achey. Seemed like nature telling me to get the hell off the computer, so instead I watched a bunch of movies I’ve had stacked up on the box. Let me just say that Love Actually has now jumped into first place on my list of favorite holiday movies. What a charmer! And I swear The Professional gets better every time I watch it. Also? Curse of the Golden Flower is the most beautiful film ever produced, but in a completely different way than Hero is the most beautiful film ever produced.

So, here’s my se7en:

1. I pretty much live in pjs when I’m at home. Put ‘em on as soon as I get home from work, don’t take ‘em off till bedtime. Because I don’t sleep in pjs.
2. I’ve never gotten over my fascination with lava lamps. Watching one is utterly soothing to me. I have a small battery-operated glitter one that cycles through six different colors, and sometimes I even carry it around with me. Here’s one of mine on ThinkGeek (that’s Gort, my computer gargoyle, beside it).
3. I have trouble falling asleep unless our big cat, Lynksis, is curled up against my feet. Her purring vibrating through the soles of my feet is the best sleep aid I’ve ever found. Plus, her heavy fur keeps my toesies cozy.
4. I have vivid sex dreams every night. Once I dreamed I was having sex with Jason Voorhees, in his Jason X upgrade gear. Another dream-sex partner was Scar, the Predator from AVP. Yeah, I’ve always had a weakness for big guys.
5. I adore triviata. Whenever we watch a movie, I simply must visit its Trivia page on IMDb so I can read all the random little facts about it (and then annoy Bret by sharing them incessantly).
6. I became addicted to Valium at the age of 17, and didn’t kick it until age 22. In a fit of self-disgust, I stopped cold turkey. After five years of constant sedation, the sensations of unfiltered real life seemed like an assault.
7. My favorite time is 11:11, but I don’t know why. I love it so much that Bret and I got married at 11:11 a.m. Whenever we notice that time (a.m. or p.m.), we race to say “I love you” to each other. We’ve both even done so via phone call or text message.
