Pseudotherapy

When one is not feeling well, and hasn’t had a solid eight hours of sleep in four days, and had a grueling day of putting out fire after fire at work, and forgot her healthy food so had to scrounge for junk for lunch, and is feeling even worse because of that, not to mention being utterly exhausted … brilliance eludes.

I would like, at this moment, to be sprawled in front of a blazing fireplace with a mug of mulled cider, watching the lights on my Yule tree twinkle. Sadly, I possess none of the above. [At this point, I fell asleep at my desk. Exhausted, yes? Resumed several hours later.] I do have a Yule Log DVD, which sucks worse than you can even imagine. Seriously, how difficult can it be to film a burning fire contained within a fireplace? But you know, when you start with a Duraflame log instead of real wood, you’ve already blown any hope of authenticity.

So, here’s a big surprise: I’m already floundering with my “daily” commitments. I had grandiose delusions of finding and capturing a moment of beauty out of every single day for the This Is Today! Flickr pool. Two days in a row, left the camera at home. On Holidailies, I’m still in the ballgame, but I’ve already missed one day. Yeah, I suck. But at least I swallow. Heh. (Surely you saw that one coming …)

Also, Blog Crush Day 2007 is coming up December 14th. Yes, that infamous destroyer of marriages and friendships is back for another round! Just kidding. I think only a few relationships buckled under the strain of secret desires revealed. But hey, it’s the best damn blog-reading of the year!!! Start planning now. What? I don’t know.

Perhaps writing in the middle of the night is not the best thing for me.
