Pseudotherapy

There are times when blogging fits nicely into my life. Then there are times when it is crowded out by Real Life. This past week has been such a time. What’s cool about it is that for most of the week, Real Life was being effing AWESOME. Well, except for the sick-with-the-Plague part. But even that wasn’t horrible, because I was never too sick to go to work. I think I have better resistance than Bret. Anyway, I still don’t have a lot of free time - tonight is DaveLA and I’ll need at least eight hours to get ready for the long-awaited meeting with His Daveness. So here’s a quick recap of my week in, well, capsule formation:

• Spent two evenings making giant posters for Best Buy’s area at Street Scene. Juli offered payment, but hey, she’s my kid.
• Had presentations to do at three of the four regional meetings on Tuesday. I coughed so much throughout the first meeting that they moved me to first on the slate for the other two, so I could present and then leave. How I managed to not cough while speakifying, I do not know.
• I have a new baby camera! Bret’s technologically-challenged boss got fed up with trying to figure out how to use his little Nikon CoolPix 7900 and passed it on to me. He’s managed to lose the manual and all the cords, but those are replaceable. And until I can afford my Canon SD700 IS (discontinued but still rated the best), this will be a fun toy. Now I can finally join Flickr’s 365 Days group.
• Two of the three remaining temps at our office were officially hired this week. I was not, in spite of the high regard in which they claim to hold me. Yeah, I’m kinda bitter. I do believe it’s time to go find myself a REAL job. Which is sad because not only do I LOVE my work, but I’m damn good at it, too.
• I got new glasses. I was amazed how much better I can see! Why do so many people have bifocals when monovision works much better? For me, anyway. I’m just sad that the frames I chose turned out to be too uncomfortable to wear.
• And finally … HAPPY AUTUMN, EVERYONE!!!
