I got got got got got no time …
When do you write your blog posts? In the morning before work? AT work? While watching TV in the evening? In the dark, private midnight hours?
I ask because lately I’m having a hell of a time FINDING time to write. I haven’t been waking up as early as I used to since I started working again, and once coffee-and-news time with Bret passes, it’s a mad scramble to get ready to leave on time. I have an hour free here before I clock in at 8, but that’s usually spent reading YOUR blogs. There’s always a bunch of stuff I need to do after work, then it’s time to make dinner, and lately, bedtime has followed close behind. Oftentimes (like last night) when I do try to stay up, I fall asleep at my keyboard.
I have a post in draft status that I’ve been trying to finish since late Sunday night. It requires illustrations, which is why I’m not working on it right now. But it seems like I get a few sentences written and then something interrupts me every time I think I’ll get it finished. Frustrates me no end.
So tell me, do you have a specific time of day dedicated to blogging, or do you grab it as it comes? Do you put off other stuff, or even sacrifice family time to write? What’s YOUR secret for managing to post every day? This inquiring mind wants to know.

I work from home (so can quite easily blog during the “work day”), and my family are all feline. They firmly believe that I’m warmblooded furniture, but they don’t cut into my blogging time all that much.
I usually just grab time to blog when I think about it - though I will sometimes have a post in the queue, in progress…usually something spurred on by a link I found, or an article I read.
I’ve still had too many posts go wandering away and not come back, though.

I usually write before I go to bed which is why my posts go up around 2 or 3 AM. You also have to factor in that I live alone (except for my fish) so I rarely have distractions. It also helps to blog from my Sidekick, which means I can literally post from anywhere.

I grab it as it comes but always set it to post for a certain time. Usually when I am working out of the home, I try to post at night while watching television, then set it to post around 2am the next morning.
However when I work from home, I tend to post more in the early afternoon and let it sit for two days so everyone can see it (yes I know my readers that well, LOL).

Uhmmm the first one should have said “when I am working out of the office”…geez, that is when I post at night. Tired much?

While I was offline (oh the horrors) it was as soon as I got into work (6/7 am) but normally it’s a mad scramble to get it in before the date change. I read everyone else’s blogs first and then watch a little tv, east somethign and then realise it’s very very dark and quiet outside, panic and drag an inane thought out of my head.
You can tell the ones that are posted at a’reasonable’ time. They’re the ones with thought processes!

Hmm… I usually think about what I will write during the day, then blog it late at night when I find the time. But I haven’t had much time lately either :( Sometimes I feel guilty for not blogging, but I also feel guilty for writing what I know is crap. ;)

For me, it’s one of two times. I either blog between 10pm and midnight and then set the post to automatically publish right after midnight, OR I blog in the late morning and try to get my post up before noon. Usually the latter, though I wish I was prepared enough to do the former a lot more.
